High prices of construction materials make housing prices increase by 15%

After the distance, the suppliers of construction materials from iron and steel, concrete, plastic pipes... all simultaneously increased their prices with an increase of 5%-20%. Among these, construction steel is a commodity that has continuously increased in price since the beginning of the year until now.

According to statistics of the Vietnam Association of Construction Contractors (VACC), from October 25, cement prices also increased sharply, averaging from 80,000 to 100,000 VND/ton. The reason is that the price of domestic coal has increased by an average of 7 - 10%, the price of DO oil used to burn when it has just been dried has increased by more than 10% and a series of additives used in cement production have also increased in price. Meanwhile, the price of coal accounts for 40-45% of the cost of cement production.

According to the leader of a construction company, currently all construction contractors are facing difficulties without a solution because they had previously signed with the investor a fixed and non-adjustable unit price contract at the time of signing. except in cases of force majeure. Therefore, no matter how much the price of construction materials increases, they still have to "click" the construction to ensure the schedule in the contract, otherwise they will be severely fined.

According to the Vietnam Real Estate Brokers Association, the price of building materials has increased rapidly in recent times, leading to an increase of 4-6% in apartments in recent times. It is forecasted that the price will increase by 10-15% in the near future. This situation leaves investors in a state of panic.
